Minimum Specifications for Modern Style Desk Computers
Modern style desk – The minimum specifications for a desk computer are those that allow you to run your operating system efficiently. To run operating systems modern as Microsoft Windows 7 computers PC and Snow Leopard on a Mac computer, a computer must have a suitable rate of processor and enough space and RAM (Random Access Memory – Random Access Memory) to install and run the software.
Hard disk space
The main computer hard drive is where all the programs are stored. Windows 7 needs approximately 16 gigabytes of space and Snow Leopard about 5. However, virtually all modern style desk have much more space than the one mentioned; some have up to 1 terabyte of free space.
RAM (Random Access Memory)
To run the Windows 7 or Snow Leopard operating system, a computer must have at least 1 gigabyte of RAM. This is the fastest and easiest access memory that is used by the computer while it is on. Most current PCs and Macs will have between 2 and 8 gigabytes of RAM.
CPU (Central Processing Unit)
The central processor of a computer is its brain, so to complete all the processes and calculations required to run a modern operating system, this brain must be quite powerful.
